Outstanding 16 Drawer Spice Chest

From an early Dry Goods store.  In scrumptious softly faded original red wash, with unaltered black stenciled spice labels on all 16 square and T-nailed drawers.  Ground Pepper; Ground Ginger; Ground Cinnamon; Whole Nutmeg; Parsley Flakes; Mustard Seed; Bay Leaves; Ground Mace; Whole Cloves: Stick Cinnamon; Thyme; Ground Allspice; Dill Seed; Rubbed Sage; Basil Leaves; and Paprika. In many of the drawers period spices remain, along with tiny tinned iron scoops. Tulip poplar with pine tongue and groove back boards.  Measuring 31-1/4” tall by 45-1/2” wide x 10-3/4"” deep (to the ends of the pulls). A Maryland shipping lable remains on the top of the chest.  Probably Maryland or Pennsylvania origin.  A rare and wonderful piece!
