This cica 1780-1790, Baltimore, Maryland mahogany neoclassical game table is in lovely condition for its age.  The gracefully proportioned circular shape and cove molded top is indicative of Baltimore cabinet makers.   The bridle joined front legs, paired swing legs, and back leg overlap of the apron are signature construction traits of Federal game tables produced there as well.  And the fluted legs terminating in small spade feet, clearly reflects the conservative influence of 18th century Annapolis, Maryland furniture.  A very attractive table!  Measuring 30" tall by 38" wide by 18-1/2" deep (closed) and 29" tall by 38" by 37-1/2" (open top).  Minor surface imperfections, a few minor nicks on the legs, a couple of modern nails used to secure glue blocks, one piece of veneer repaired on apron, all consistent with age and use.
