19th C. Firkin In Original Paint
This wonderful early staved firkin has a bail handle and fingered bands secured with early tacks. Adorned in its original blue paint that has oxidized to a greenish-blue. You can see what the blue once looked like in areas of wear, or perhaps where cleaning occurred. There is a stamped name on the lid, however, I have not been able to make it out. If anyone can figure out what it says then please let me know. Said to have been found in Maine. Wonderful color and patina! Measuring approximately 14" tall (not counting the handle).
