Fine 19th C. Sugar Firkin

This is a very fine firkin in its original Nautical Blue paint.  With fingered bands secured with early copper tacks.  The paint is still quite vivid.  You can see the true original color on the base.  The inside of the firkin still retains remnants of sugar.  And on the inside of the lid there is some writing in pencil.  I have been unable to make it out.  Minor surface abrasions consistent with age and use.
