Carved & Painted Pennsylvania Bird
This is an exceptional carved and painted bird that came out of Pennsylvania. He has glass eyes and wire legs that are mounted on what appears to be his original paint decorated stand. He is red, green and yellow. I am not sure what kind of bird he is. So you be the judge of that. His paint surface has very nice age to it. He dates to the first quarter of the 1900s or slightly later. Measuring 11" in height and 5" wide from tip of tail to end of beak. The base measures just under 4" in diameter. The maker is unknown, but whoever did it was an gifted artisan. A real gem! In excellent, untouched condition.
