This very RARE  pair of 19th C. Fire House Windsor youth chairs are both of identical style and decoration. The first is an armchair with nicely turned spindles, legs, and stretcher base.   The second is an identically styled highchair.  Both have overall paint-decorated surfaces of black over red with gilt highlights. The backrests are decorated with a wonderful American three-masted sailing vessel flying an American flag.    SIZES: Youth armchair approx. 22-1/2"h (to the top of the back rest); highchair approx. 32"h (to the top of the back rest).  A very charming and rare pair of child's chairs.

(youth armchair has minor paint wear and one well executed repair to left arm; highchair has heavier paint wear and has three early repairs to joints).
