This wonderful early 20th C. paint-decorated Child's Coaster Wagon (ca 1919-1924) was built by the
Lewis-Geer Manufacturing Co. of Ypsilanti, Michigan.  The Lewis-Geer Co. started out manufacturing  ladders, automobile wheels, then on to porch swings and children's coaster wagons in the early 20's.  The company closed down sometime after 1928.   This particular coaster wagon model was the "360 bearing".  An earlier model was the "330 bearing" model.  This one appears to have been a simple flat bed coaster wagon, made to go faster that its predisissor.  There are three small holes on the bed, but in odd locations, suggesting that there were no signs of there having been any side-rails, but possibly "hold ropes".  There is a wooden hand brake to slow down the wood and iron weels.  The wheels are paint decorated with a yellow design on a red ground.  The edges of the bed are also painted red, along with the hand brake.  Stenciled on one end of the wagon is the Manufacturers name, location and style number of the wagon.  In wonderful working condition!   The bed measures 36" L by 16-1/4" W and sits 12" off the ground.  The wheels measure 10" in diameter.  A great way
to display Chirstmas Santas/Trees/Wrapped Packages or potted plants in the summer!
