This is a wonderful early, and very folky diorama of a three masted schooner at sea.

Hand carved out of wood, it is mounted in a shadow-box atop very realistic looking three dimensional waves. The sides and back-boards are all hand painted with several other sailing ships and flocks of sea gulls in the sky.

Each sail on this schooner is also hand carved

out of wood. Most of the riggings are still in tact with just a few that have come loose. The two-board back of the shadow box still has remnants of early wallpaper and paint. It measures 32-1/2" by 21-1/2" overall. A super

piece of Americana! (glass replaced).
