This early 19th C. trencher came out of up-state New York.  It is very primitive, with a natural "attic surface" with nice overall wear from everyday use.  It is nicely shaped, with thicker ends for handles and very thin side walls.  It was hand hewn from a single piece of wood and quite large, measuring 28-1/4" long by 16-3/4" deep with the sides measuring 5-3/4" in height.  A super early primitive piece in untouched attic surface!
