This fabulous little Chippendale box, originally out of Boston, Mass., has a fantastic paint decorated surface. The finely dovetailed case is set off by it's lovely high bracket base. Inside the lid is a painted oval, in which is a pensil inscription that reads "Boston". It is a petite size of only 14-1/2" wide by 6-1/2" deep by 8" tall. It also has its original lock (no key). It's original leather hinges were later replaced with tiny brass hinges. Made entirely out of white pine. An outstanding little "gem". In near perfect condition.
