Northeastern Indian Baskets

Here I am offering two very nice lidded Woodlands Indian baskets, woven free hand without a mold using hand-cut splints, some swabbed in Prussian blue, probably ca. 1880 with nice vegetable dye accents.

The smaller of the two is in near pristine condition, with only two very tiny losses on the lid, although nearly invisible to the naked eye. This basket is finely woven with accents of green and blue. The body of the basket appears to be in pristine condition. It measures approximately 12" in diameter by 9" tall.
