Miniature Watercolor Portrait of a Cat

This is a fabulous little naive watercolor of a playful tabby cat sitting on a blue rug playing with a ball of string. He is housed in a lovely burl maple frame with gilt liner. The cat is pressed/raised on cardboard and then painted, giving it a 3-dimentional look. Measuring just 8 3/4" wide by 7 3/8" tall (3 1/2" by 4 3/4" sight). A very sweet little watercolor! English origin.
