​19th C. Miniature Decorated PA Blanket Box

This very fine little miniature blanket box is decorated in a dark red brushed design on a bright salmon ground.  The box rest on nicely turned feet that are mortised through the base.  There is applied edge molding on the base as well.  The lid edge has incising for extra design.  There is also an interior till.  All original, except for the hasp, which appears to be a later addition.  The box probably had no locking mechanism in its earlier life.  Pennsylvania origin.  Measuring just 16 1/2" wide by 8 1/2" deep by 11 3/8" tall.  A terrific little paint decorated piece!
