Miniature Blanket Box

This unique little blanket box still retains its original red painted surface.  It is stamp signed by its maker, "P. R. Mikesell".  There is also the same name incised into the wood just below the stamp.​

This little box has an interior till and two drawers with brass pulls.  The case is dovetailed.  The lid and base both have dovetailed applied edge moldings.  Measuring 10 1/2" wide by 6" deep by 6 1/2" tall.    New England origin.  Ca 1840 to 1850.
