​19th C. Naughty Nellie Balancing Toy

This fine early 19th C. balancing toy is sailor made, with a Naughty Nellie as the central figure. Both Nellie and the heart shaped balancing ends, along with the bottom of the central support post, are hand carved from whale bone.  A wonderful conversation piece!

Measuring 8 7/8" tall by 9" wide (heart to heart), with a base circumfrence of 2 1/8".
