Pair of Pennsylvania Arm Chairs

This pair of tall, all-original armchairs is rare — perhaps, unique. One chair is in its original bittersweet paint. Its mate is in its original, oxidized, light blue. The slightly curved backs, 17 1/2”-tall seats, and shaped arms make these chairs especially comfortable. And given the script writing on the underside of one seat, the identity of the Bucks County, PA maker is known, "George W. Clofsin, Lower Blacks Eddy, Bucks County, Penn". Mid-19th century. Fine, “untouched” condition.  Ca. 1830-1840.
