Paint Decorated Miniature Chippendale Box

This fabulous little Chippendale box, originally out of Boston, Mass., has a fantastic paint decorated surface. The finely dovetailed case is set off by its lovely high bracket base. Inside the lid is a painted oval, in which is a pencil inscription that reads "Boston". It is a petite size of only 14-1/2" wide by 6-1/2" deep by 8" tall. It also has its original lock (no key). Its original leather hinges were later replaced with tiny brass hinges. Made entirely of white pine. An outstanding little "gem". In near perfect condition.
