This wonderful country Empire chest of drawers is made out of solid mahogany with pine as the secondary wood. It has paneled sides, a thick chamfered back, dovetailed drawers with 1" thick drawer fronts, 3" corner posts and decorative turned post adorning the front. It also has much of its early red paint which has been worn down to almost a wash in some areas. The knobs may be replacements, but they look like they have been on this piece for ever. It measures 41" wide by 20-1/4" deep by 44" tall. A great early 19th C. country chest!
