Early New England Shorebird Decoys

This is a lovely pair of hand carved New England shorebird decoys.  Their bodies retain an old worn paint decorated surface that shows years of use.  I believe they are Sandpipers.  One has a wooden beak while the other has an early nail for a beak.  They stand on stiff rusted iron legs and are mounted in a newer base for display.  The base measures 8" deep by 8-1/2" wide.  Height to the top of the tallest bird is 14-3/4".  These birds have lived in my home for almost ten years.  Great form and great folk art!
