Tiger Maple Sideboard
Exceptional early 19th C. high country federal sideboard in particularly vivid tiger maple with a soft amber surface. Dramatic deeply scalloped skirt. Amazing one-board top. Three dovetailed drawers above a pair of frame-and-panel doors with broadly chamfered interior faces, framed by subtle and unusual cove moldings and flanked by two more frame-and-panel doors that were most likely used for bottles in its earlier life, now with added shelves. Measuring 65”w by 19”d by 43 ½" t. Probably Kentucky, possibly Tennessee. Ca. 1810-1820. One of the finest I’ve ever seen.
