This early 19th C. wallpaper covered hat box is in exceptional condition for its age. Its wallpaper covering is done in a lovelyhand stenciled design in alternating hues of blue. This box is one of two being offered, both of which were passed down through the same Pennsylvania family. The interior of the box and lid are lined in early PA-Dutch newsprint. The bottom is covered with an early news print advertising for "Amiley Grocery Store", dated 1847. This is the larger of the two, measuring 18" wide by 13" deep by 12-1/2" tall.
