18th C. Whieldon Tortoise Shell Plate

Thomas Whieldon (September 1719 - 1795) was an English potter who made pottery that was decorated in a tortoise shell pattern known as Whieldon Ware. Many different patterns and colors were made. It is somewhat rare and hard-to-find since much of it was used daily and broken. This plate comes from my personal collection. It is in excellent condition.
