19th C. Winnower

This is an early winnower.  Winnowers were used to separate grain from chaff, which was typically done after the threshing.  But today they can be used as wall decor, perfect for displaying florals and other things.  The last image below shows an example of how it can be displayed. This image is of another winnower, not this one, although very similar. This piece measures 59 1/4" wide by 29" tall by 9" deep (excluding the handles).  The two corners have make-do tin patches for support.  And there is surface wear commensurate with age and use.  A nice primitive piece!
