Paint Decorated Canning Cupboard

This lovely early cupboard was most likely used for storing canned goods in its earlier life.  The paint decorated surface was done to simulate a more expensive tiger maple, done with an ochre graining on a chrome yellow ground.  The cupboard has a single door with double chamferred panels over a single dovetailed drawer above a nicely scalloped base.  The case is also dovetailed. One interior shelf may be a later replacement.  But the surface is all original with minor imperfections from everyday use.  In a very desirable size measuring 60 1/2" tall by 39 1/2" wide (at the cornice) and 36" wide (case) by 11" deep (at the cornice) and 9" deep (case).
A stunning appearance!
